Volunteers learnt how to use a range of equipment from the simple traditional tape measure to the latest total station and differential GPS equipment.

We also recorded the stone walls which showed a variety of methods of construction from different periods. We found an Iron Age type of quern stone on one of the walls, and its details have been added to the Yorkshire Quern Survey database
